THE MEHARANGARH FORT
One of the most stunning hill forts of Rajasthan, Meharangarh appears to rise from the bluff colored sandstone hill itself. Founded in the 15th century by the Rathore Rajputs.
THE UMAID BHAWAN PALACE
Umaid Bhawan Palace is the largest private residence in the world, the finest extant example of art-deco, the only palace to have paintings from the Ramayana painted by a artist.
THE JASWANT THADA
A cluster of royal cenotaphs in white marble built in 1899 AD, in memory of Maharaja Jaswant singh. With the main cenotaph are portraits of various Jodhpur rulers.
THE BALSAMAND LAKE
A pretty lake built in 1159 AD, splendid summer place stands by the lake side surrounded by beautiful gardens.

The former capital of Marwar,north of Jodhpur. Worth seeing are the old cenotaphs & caves in the crags which once sheltered ascetics.
